Kindergarten Easter Party

Friday was a fun kindergarten day. They had a parade and actually got to have a Easter egg hunt. That's a cool thing about Texas. Easter is big here and everyone says "Happy Easter" to you.
They have been studying transportation in kindergarten and so they had a transportation parade on friday. A lot of the kids made the super cool vehicles you see in the background. I tried to get Luke to make one, but he insisted that he wanted to ride his scooter for his transportation. Maybe it was being born in Oregon that made him choose the "green" mode of transportation.

Luke's class all lined up and ready to go. Even though it is sunny, it was VERY windy and very cold. A couple of the kids had Easter grass in their baskets and it just blew away.

Easter egg hunting Lubbock style. As you call tell, the shrubbery is a little limited here so it's not to hard to find the eggs. However, each child was assigned a number and had 20 eggs to find. That made for 400 eggs in the field and it was pretty cool looking. It took them a long time though, and eventually we just grabbed the eggs and went inside because it was so cold!

Luke found some of his own eggs, but I noticed he spent most of his time helping other kids find theirs. He's such a nice boy and always looks out for other people.

Even though you can't tell from the other pictures how cold and windy it was, you can from this shot of Kate. Normally I would say Kate has pretty sweet life, but maybe being dragged out on adventures like this isn't the best part.

Checking out the candy in all the eggs.
