Baby Likes Sweet and Sour Chicken

Kate has evidently reached that stage of grasping at things. Allie and I were playing Rummikub during dinner and I was about to make a mega move when Kate decided to go for my sweet and sour chicken. I had greatly underestimated her grasping abilities until tonight. Apparently eating, holding Kate, and playing a game was too much multitasking for me and Kate seized the opportunity. By the time Allie yelled, "Mom!" and I realized what was happening it was too late.  With lightning speed the fistful of food went into her hair, all over the floor, the table and me. I instantly learned it's a lot easier to get rice and sweet and sour sauce off those bald baby heads than the hairy variety. Actually, I think she was just as surprised as the rest of us at the whole ordeal. Notice the rice and sauce all over her sleeper and in her hair. I personally love the carrot perched on her shoulder--it really did land that way!

That is too funny! That grasping stage always hits like a ton of bricks. I hate though that they can't be lap babies anymore:(

Yum! I love sweet and sour chicken, too. It's funny when they surprise themselves. Maybe Kate just wants to be big too. I have found with Ellie that she doesn't want baby food as much as she wants what her older sister and brother are eating. She grunts and cries until she gets a taste. And I have to admit that I'm not as strict about the whole feeding regiment as I was with the other two. Ellie often eats a little bit of what we're having for dinner. I guess it's easier that way and with 3 kids, I'm all for easy! :)

Look how sweet and innocent she looks. So cute! I am home now, we need to have a playdate and I have to steal Kate for awhile while you run errands, or take a nap.

sweet and sour, my favorite, besides your yummy spaghetti and meatballs. Kate is seriously one of the cutest babies ever. Keep posting pictures! Good luck with the move.
