Our apartment complex had a coloring contest. Allie and Luke both won first prize for their age group. Here's a picture of them picking up their prizes. Their pictures, along with the other entries and on the door behind them. (Allie and Luke were the only entries!) They don't care though--they are just glad they won. It reminded me of when I was little and I entered some coloring contests. I remember there was one at the Disco supermarket. There was another too where the weatherman would put your picture on the weather page in the newspaper. I checked that thing for years but I never saw my picture there. How sad! Luke felt bad that I never won. On the way back from picking up his prize he said, "Mom, I'm sorry you never won a coloring contest. Maybe you will win one in the next life." So until then, I can just be proud that MY kids won!

What a fun idea for your apartment complex to do. I might have to steal it.
I won a coloring contest once. I got 5$, I think it was from Vons grocery store. I held onto that glory for a long time.

Well, Kim, I'm glad your kids won b/c I entered a few of those in my little town (and I mean little) and never won--maybe that says something about my coloring skills! :) And it looks like you are having a fun time in TX this fall.
